Return & Refund Policy

At Baby Bird Blooms, we take great care in dividing, inspecting, and packing healthy dahlia tubers. Each tuber is visually inspected prior to shipping to ensure it is firm, healthy, and contains at least one visible eye or sprout at the time of shipment. This guarantee applies only at the time of shipment. 

Dahlias are living products and are highly dependent on many factors beyond our control, including but not limited to handling, storage, planting conditions, soil health, pests, weather, and care practices. For this reason, Baby Bird Blooms cannot guarantee growth or overall plant performance after delivery.

If a tuber is deemed unfit to ship prior to dispatch, the customer will be fully refunded for that tuber and notified via email.

Inspection & Claims

All sales are final. Responsibility for tubers transfers to the customer upon delivery or at the time of pickup. Customers are responsible for inspecting their tuber(s) promptly upon receiving their order and reporting any concerns within 48 hours of delivery or pickup. 

All claims must include:

  • Order number 
  • A detailed description of the concern (including variety name/s) 
  • Clear, well-lit photos of:
    • The tuber(s) in question (before planting)
    • The original packaging
    • The shipping label

Claims submitted without the required details and photo documentation will not be reviewed. Transit-related claims are reviewed at our discretion in accordance with our Shipping & Pickup Policy.

If a claim is approved, Baby Bird Blooms will offer either:

  • A replacement tuber (if available), or 
  • Store credit at our discretion

No refunds will be issued after the 48-hour inspection period.

Once the 48-hour inspection window has passed, the customer assumes full responsibility for storage, condition, and care of the tuber(s).

Planted Tubers Are Not Eligible

Tubers that have been planted are not eligible for refunds or replacement. This includes:

  • Tubers that fail to sprout
  • Tubers that rot after planting
  • Tubers affected by weather, soil conditions, pests, or care practices
  • End-of-season or delayed claims

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • Inspecting tubers immediately upon delivery or pickup
  • Storing tubers properly if planting is delayed (cool, dry, frost-free environment)
  • Submitting claims within 48 hours of delivery or pickup
  • Providing complete documentation with their claim

Improper storage may result in rot or desiccation, for which Baby Bird Blooms is not responsible.

Incorrect Variety

Every effort is made to ensure accurate labeling at all stages of dividing, storage, and shipping. Tubers are carefully labeled during the division process and handled with care throughout the season. However, as with all dahlia growers, labeling errors can occasionally occur.

Due to the nature of dahlia cultivation and the difficulty of verifying claims once plants are grown in individual gardens, Baby Bird Blooms does not guarantee variety accuracy and cannot offer refunds, replacements, or store credit for suspected mislabeled tubers.

Environmental conditions can also influence bloom size, colour intensity, and petal formation, which may cause blooms to appear different from expectations.

By purchasing dahlia tubers from Baby Bird Blooms, customers acknowledge and accept the small possibility of labeling error as an inherent risk when purchasing live plant material.

Unverified Tubers & Mystery Tubers

All unverified tubers and mystery tubers (including those sold in mystery packs) are grown in our garden and are not newly imported stock.

By purchasing unverified varieties or mystery tubers, customers acknowledge that bloom characteristics and cultivar identity may be uncertain or differ from expectations.

Unverified varieties, mystery tubers, and suspected mislabeled varieties are not eligible for refunds, replacements, or store credit based on bloom results or variety identification.

Final Sale

Due to the perishable nature of live plant material, all tuber sales are final and cannot be cancelled, combined, or modified after an order has been placed.

Right to Refuse

Baby Bird Blooms reserves the right to refuse refunds, replacements, or store credits if policy guidelines are not followed.
